暑假将至，各位是否又在为学龄孩子的去处、安全、和学习而烦恼呢？多年来，哥城的华人家长们一直希望我们办一个以华夏文化为特色的教育型全日制夏令营，既为学龄孩子们在暑假有个安全去处和参加一些有意义的活动，又可以学习文化技能。借鉴中文学校管理经验和丰富的教学资源并联合其他华人社团，俄州中国文化中心（Chinese Culture Link, Inc.）有意于今年举办这样一个富有特色又内容充实的夏令营，让您的孩子能够在轻松愉快的环境下享受学习的乐趣。文化中心夏令营的宗旨是：孩子开心，家长安心，体智成长，优化心灵。在目前策划阶段，我们在此做一个调研，了解有多少孩子可能参加我们的夏令营，并尽早地了解家长们的需求和意愿。计划中的夏令营要点如下：

* 时间：计划在6月14日或21日至8月13日或20日，历时8～9周
* 内容：
+ 中文教学 -- 3到4个程度 (夏令营的目的与重点不在于增加新的中文知识，而在于用灵活轻松的教育方式帮助孩子复习、掌握、巩固、和应用以前在中文学校所学到的知识。因此，不会与现有的中文学校教程相冲突，而是与之相辅相补相成)
+ 文化技能—数学、英文、歌、舞、琴、棋、书、画，和体育游戏 (英文，数学和中文为基本课程，其它文化技能课为选修课程)
+ 夏令营将包含正式的开营闭营仪式及汇报表演。
* 形式：全日制 周一 至 周五 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
* 地点；哥城华人教会 (拟)
* 费用：与本地教育型全日制夏令营相当, 约$250/周，含午餐和点心
* 管理、师资、辅导、和服务：在本地中文学校和大学教授中聘请优秀管理和师资人员，艺术和体育专业教师可根据需要从外地聘请，从优秀华人大学生和高中生招募辅导人员，从华人社团中聘请服务人员。

Dear Parents,

Summer is approaching. Are you starting thinking about where to send your school-age children to a safe place and learn something? Over the years, Chinese parents in Columbus have always wanted to have a full time summer camp featuring Chinese culture, where school-age children can not only have a safe place for the long summer and participate in some meaningful activity, but also enhance their Chinese language and related cultural skills.

Combining the management experience of Ohio Contemporary Chinese School (OCCS) and a wealth of teaching resources, together with other Chinese communities, Chinese Culture Link, Inc. (CCL) intends to hold such a summer camp this year. In the current planning stage, we are here to do a survey to get practical information on how many children may take part in our summer camp, to understand various needs of our parents, etc.

Details of the planned summer camp:

Time: planned for June 14 or 21 to August 13 or 20, which lasted 8 to 9 weeks

Content: Chinese Language - 3 to 4 levels, cultural skills - math, English, singing, dancing, piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, and sports games;

Type: Full-time Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 6:00 pm

Location: Columbus Chinese Christian Church (final decision pending)

Cost: comparable to other full-time education-based summer camp in Columbus at ~$250 /week， including lunch and snack

Management, teachers, counseling, and services: good management and teaching staff from the local Chinese schools and colleges in Columbus, professional arts and sports teaching staffs invited from out-of-state if necessary, counselors from excellent Chinese-background college students and high school students, accountable staffs from local Chinese community.
